Well, i intended to post a bit more regularly, and i guess this is, kind of...! i went to my Dad's graduation last Saturday. Wasnt particularly fun (graduations AREN'T fun) but i can now say that i've been to my Mum's AND my Dad's graduation, and not many people can say that :)
Haven't been up to the hugest amount this week, i dont think... just meeting up with lots of people, and drinking lots of coffee. i had to climb up to the top of Fulwood Church's bell tower to take some pictues, and that was fun as i've never done it before! pretty scary too thought as there are only rickety old ladders... got a job :-O but i refuse to comment on it until after my 'training day' tomorrow (tuesday)
Went to Blackpool this weekend with my family. was...interesting... as havent been on holiday with my parents since i was in y9, so didnt really know what to expect. Was ok though. Definately made alot easier with my big bro being there. my little bro just spent the weekend being a difficult 16 year old- the less said about that the better... sorry Joe for not being there on friday, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAN!! sorry to you too for not being there to celebrate. hope you had a lovely time :) !!
Anywhoodles. my life isnt overly fun or exciting at the mo, so i'll leave it there... Good luck to everyone who's just gone/just going to uni. i miss you all already!! let me know when you're back around in Sheffo! xx

long time, no post
well, i haven't written one of these in a while, just due to general busyness and also stuff that's been going on.
i'm not going to sit here and bore you all with lengthy details of my summer adventures as they've been quite epic! just after my last post, i went to Keswick. Each summer, there's a 3 week Christian convention in Kewsick and i was there for the last weeks -the 1st to do youth work, and the 2nd week to do Kids work. Then i RANDOMLY decided to go do Kids work on a Beach Mission in Abersoch - it involved doing Kids work, similar to Keswick, but with the added bonus of being able to spend my afternoons working with Kids on the beach! I decided an hour before i went to Abersoch that i was going to go, so it was all a bit crazy (but very last-minute, and very typically Fran-like!)!! Abersoch is tiny, and pretty isolated on the northern peninsula of Wales, but i LOVED it!! i was then back in Sheffield for a bit - went to Han's pre results party, got results, spent some time at the oakes (www.oakes.org.uk), and spent lots of time meeting up with people that i hadnt seen for a while. The Thursday which followed results, i went to Greenbelt, which is a 'Christian' music and Arts festival. i say 'Christian' because even though there's lots of Christian seminars and talks, and plenty of Christian bands and music; there's also a similar amount of Secular music and activities going on at the same time. i was doing 'detached youth work,' which meant that we were separate from the actual youth programme that was going on. We basically worked in shifts from 12midday til 2am, going round talking to the youth at greenbelt, making sure they kept out of trouble, and being a point of contact for them in case they did get into trouble. 11pm-2am was our main shift, mainly due to the prospect of underage drunkenness and having to peel drunk 16 years olds off the floor and help them back to their tents; but also because we had a marque pitched on the youth campsite which we opened between 11pm-2am, with the idea that kids would come to the marque, and not roam round Greenbelt (Greenbelt was held on Cheltenham race course - and it's large, especially when you think that there was 20,000 people camping there, along with all the venues and activities!). Anyway, the marque was COOL (well, i thought it was!) coz we'd blagged a carpet so it felt like a proper little home; AND we had 100 fresh doughnuts each night to give away to the Kids, along with crisps and Cola and sweets and stuff! LOVE IT. It was TOUGH work, but i really did love it. i think what made it even harder was the fact that Greenbelt had never had a detached youth work team before, so they were trialing it this year, meaning there was only EIGHT of us! we had to work HARD!!
after Greenbelt, i went and stayed at my friend's house for a few days, and the first night i crashed for 17 hours to catch up with my lack of Greenbelt sleeping, LOL! since then i've just been around in Sheffield. meeting lots of people for coffee; bumming around; sorting out the possibility of a couple of resits as an external applicant; and went to a BEAUTIFUL wedding of 2 of my friends, which was lovely!!! went to visit my friend in Preston for 2 days (we spent the day in 3 different coffee shops, lol!!), and today i met up with some people that i haven't seen for aaages - josh has just spent his gap year in Ecuador and i hadnt seen him since March (since we all went to seen Jack Johnson actually...!)!!!!
i am now up to...very little - that's well unusual for me!! this coming week i need to try and get a job/ try to begin sorting one out. also need to sort my life out generally. i want to do some short-term Christian work feb/march onwards - overseas? in England?? with which organisation??? i need to sort out waht i wana do at uni. where i wana go to uni. if i wana go to uni! just actually, generally, what i wana do/am going to do with my life!!!! *sigh* i'm sure i'll work it out one of these days! Anyway, sorry! this is me, shutting up :) xx

busyness
oh dear, i havent posted for a while!! sorry if this is an epic!
So, rewinding back to last monday...i was woken up at QUARTER PAST NINE by a bored [info]axeman2002 and [info]wormlover - i was not amused!! we ventured to starbucks, and then they went to a maths exam whilst i revised german :P me and Sarah Garlick decided that we were hot and bored of german vocab, so went and danced in the VERY heavy rain- felt very liberating :) i then forced dave to do so when he finished his exam, and i reckon he liked it! after Dave got the 65 home from Eccy Road, i was walking home and popped in to see my youth leader coz he had a book that i wanted. now, my youth leader is on sabbatical at the moment and so i havent seen him for a while, nor his wife or 4 young and very beatiful children. needless to say, i was there for about 4 hours :S ooops!
tuesday, i had my German exam...the less said about that the better, apart from, it was AWFUL. Dave the random person that he is, came in to school just to see how my exam went :S if it wasnt for him, i'd have run home and cried. instead we went for a wander through Endcliffe Park on the lookout for Kev (?) the duck?! lol, i still dont understand!
Wednesday began with a welcome trip to starbucks LATE morning (Mark and Dave-please note!). i then had to endure a 3 hour General Studies exam, eeek! Annoyingly, i found the German bit VERY easy- sigh, why couldnt my actual German exam have been like that?! Me,Dave and [info]totally49 then went to the fair (after finding tea in Tescos! - custard doughnuts and 'just cheese' sandwiiches, much to Dave's amazement!)!! Mark, and then [info]samegrazedknees , joined later, and much fun was had spinning (especially the excessiveness of the waltzers :P) .We also went in a pretty rubbish ghost house, and i do have a confession to make...whilst on the ride, something fell from ceiling, and i wasnt expecting it, and i really did scream, genuinely (and loudly!) hehe reckon it's the 1st real scream that ghost house will have encountered! Après fair, we went up to Lydgate Park, and my fun was had squidged on a swing (see hazzy's ringo if you havent already!). Me and Steve then stayed the night at Dave's, and then ventured into town in the morning. i met with my Small Group Leader for coffee (accompanied by her beautiful 18 month old daughter!)! Me and Dave then spent the afternoon in the downstairs of Cafe Latino dozing on the sofas and drinking their amazing hot chocolate - if you've never been there, then i recommend that you GO!
i went round to Becky Thompson's to watch the football (her Dad was VERY into it!) and the to Small Group in the evening, after Ben and Jerry's consumption :)
Friday's afternoon was spent in school, doing english revision, and analysing the pre-release. oh the fun! actually it was, especially when the desk Heidi was sitting at broke! it was a teacher's desk, and the drawers, completely randomly, half fell off! very hard to describe, but hillarious-especially as it was 5pm, and the school was pretty much deserted!! Afterwards i found Dave and went went to Cafe Latino (yet again) and were in after closing time, oops! we then went and sat in the peace gardens, by the fountains. i dared Dave to run through them, and after initial hesitency he was running in and out! i decided that i didnt want to get too wet though, and so decided not to, until Dave picked me up and dumped me on top of a fountain. needless to say, i was soaked :S but, the abuse doesnt stop there-oh no! when he's dropped me on the fountain, the grate had take a rather large chunk out of my big toe and there was a very deep cut, which didnt stop bleeding all evening. so, thanks dave, not :P !! we then went to find a train and realised that there wasnt one for 1.5hrs so we went at sat in burger king with coffee and fries. its amazing how much fun one can get out of tomato ketchup!! i got chatted up by a VERY drunk man on the bus on the way home, but the less said about that, the better!!
Saturday, i went to work (and overslept so was late, eek!), and then went and met up with the Brownies that im a leader for. They were on their weekend away (or 'pack holiday' as it's known in Brownie terminology) but i couldnt spend the weekend with them due to exams, so i was just there for the day! we went to Wood Lane Countryside Centre which is in Stannington (perceptively, on wood lane :P ) and went pond dipping and minibeast hunting and lots of other outdoorsy things! We then went back to the OAC (which is in whitely woods, near Ringinglow)where they were staying. in the evening we did African Drumming round the campfire which was FUN!!
i went to work again on sunday morning and i wasnt feeling great, so slept all afternoon, and some of the evening too!-complete waste of day!! i then watched some Dawson's Creek in the evening; and on Monday, after a long lie-in, i finished off Season 2 of Dawson's! i was gutted, but maybe i might actually do some work now!
Tuesday brought about the BEAST English Literature 3hour synoptic exam, which i was dreading, and i was SO scared! it wasn't as bad as i'd anticipated, which is a very good thing! i wrote 16 ish pages and my hand was tingling at the end from oodles of speedy scrawl - i can only hope that some of it made sense, and maybe i'll get some marks? we'll see!! i went over to Dave's afterwards and met his parents, properly, for the first time. They were nice, and i dont think they hated me, which is good :) But Dave (grrrr!) ommited to tell his parents WHO ARE BUTCHERS that i'm a VEGETARIAN!! So that was vaguely awkward, but was sorted out quickly (no thanks to Dave!!!). We then went and watched the England/Sweeden game, upon my insistence, and i fell asleep, so only saw about half the game!oops! large apology to Dave, who i fell asleep on so was forced to watch the match, but doesnt particularly like football! serves him right after the afore mentioned toe and food incidents :P !! i stayed over, and we got the train into town in the afternoon (though we did have to run!!). i then went to see my friend Rachel (who's a doctor), and we drank coffee and she showed me the decorating she'd done in her house! we ate dark chocolate covered dried mango, which is SO nice!! i dont know where to by it- it's fairtrade- but if you see it, buy it!!
i think that's about it in an update for my life!! took 2 hours! final general studies tomorrow, so hopefully that will go ok. im going to the Ukraine in EIGHT DAYS!! it only really dawned on me today, so am kinda scared coz we dont have very much planned!! its gona be a BUSY week, especially as i have 3 exams after general studies, and my final exam is the day before i go! it will be ok, i hope *breathe* !! xx

craziness
so, here we go again...!
life has been pretty eventful these past couple of days, and pretty busy! thursday, me and hazz spent the afternoon lying on a grass bank at school, talking about many random subjects, and being cooked by the sun in the process!we went down to the deli to buy lunch and i got a toasted mozzarella, tomato and pesto sandwich-was good! later on, steve picked hazz, dave, and me up and we went back to dave's to party (on the way we popped into tesco and bought lots of unhealthy junk! we also saw the llamas, and i REALLY wanted to stop to see them, but we had to go coz we were already late-Kev was there when we arrived!)!! party was pretty cool- very chilled and laid back; and was centred around Singstar and the trampoline - both of which are VERY addictive!! i hadnt really slept the night before and so fell asleep earlyish. dave woke me at about 4am ish to ask if i wanted to go sleep in bed. i honestly have no recollection of anything that i may have said as i walked out of the room...
On Friday, steve, mark, dave, and i had a HUGE water fight! was excessively fun, and very cooling! except at one point i was trying to wrestle the hose off dave and ended up making him fall over a very spikey bush/tree thing; hence why his leg is now adorned with HUGE red scratches (im very sorry!)! Afterwards, Mark decided to get naked which was just FUNNY; especially when me and dave noticed mark had a random, excessively long nipple hair, and we had to chase him round the garden, and eventually wrestle him, to pull it out! Friday was a very crazy and fun day, except when i had to run through Grindleford and almost missed my train!! eeek, oh well, we made it :) !
saturday was the 5-a-side football tournament, which had been organised through my church. me and Hannah Skelton roped in Kev, K, Joe B, and Luke (who was a hvc-er) to play on our team!! my deaded knee meant that i couldnt play, but the rest of the team seemed to have fun playing in the sweltering heat. in fact, when they were giving prizes out, out team (Argentina!) won the 'wooden spoon' for coming outrightly last! me and hannah are proud of the spoon, but i dont think the guys were too celebratory over our loser spoon - i did notice that Kev completely omitted it from his lj entry! Afterwards we watched England v Paraguay. well, i say we - tired little me fell asleep!this was in a very noisy, jam packed bar, with alot of people shouting at the tv - i should win a prize for my ability to sleep anywhere!! oooo also, when i was on the bus on the way to the 5-a-side pitches, some very shocked looking people got on th bus. it turns out that bus shelter next to them had exploded, eek! i duno what exactly they meant by 'exploded,' but there were tiny specs of glass everywhere! i KNEW that those horrible new grey-ish bus stops were silly!
After, i went over to Millhouses to a house warming party for some people i know. Dave and Mark were there which was cool (if a little random as they didnt know many of the people there), and it was generally fun. that is, until a little bit too much alcohol was consumed, and shots were introduced. i got far too carried away, and had to be escorted home (along with Kat). i was so far gone that Dave and Mark (who, along with Hazel (one of the house warmed people) were the only sober people there) had to escort me to my bed, coz i could hardly stand :S needless to say it wasnt one of my proudest moments, and i'm steering clear of excessive amounts of alcohol for the forseeable future. i woke early on a beautifully sunny Sunday morning with an awful headache, which was soon followed by a bout of projectile vomitting :S it was awful, but i did deserve it...
Sunday improved a bit later on, when i went over to Lydia's for a POOOOL PARTY! wooo!! was lots of fun, especially coz she has a big trampoline too - duno how parties survive without trampolines!! Dave and Mark were once again there (and i felt sorry for them as they didnt really know anyone else there!-to be fair, there was some that i didnt know)though i felt rather sheepish around them after the antics of the night before, eeek. I had to leave the pool party coz i had a Donetsk meeting, but that was fun too.
anyway, i'll stop rambling! xx

oooo exciting!
oooo excitingness over 1st ever LJ entry!! hehe!
well well, i dont know what to write! ever since we've left school i've just gone into ultra-lazy mode, which isnt good! i spent all last week at Dave's house, and we did very little - i am actually baffled at where all the time went! we watched party of five, woo; but Dave wasn't excessively happy at my want to watch it lots! Oooo Dave also bought Singstar (and now has even more discs for it- there's now about 90 tracks to choose from!)! its addictive, especially as i beat Dave AND Steve lots of times!
i returned home on Saturday, purely so my parents remembered that i still existed-they were a little surprised to see me!
i ran Race for Life (a 5km race for women to raise money and awareness for (breast) Cancer Research) on Sunday morning, and did very little else apart from watch Dawson's Creek Season Two (a muchly appreciated gift from Dave!)!! Went back to Dave's on Monday evening with the sole purpose being to show him how to use a washing machine, and returned home today (Wednesday) with absolutely no washing done! oops! i then spent my evening watching the sunset/an amazing sky with Hannah Skelton whilst sat on Stanage- was beautiful :)
Anyways, now it's up to date, and i've actually completed an entry, i hopefully wont be as scared to write in it in future, and may not ramble as much!!
